Bursting with Pride

Best Dessert Atlanta

My husband Louie, representing 4th & Swift Restaurant competed in a contest this past weekend for charity called, Best Dessert Atlanta - benefiting Adoption Discovery. The event was held at the Hennessy Porsche dealership in Roswell. It was very classy and VIP. My sister, Christy, her boyfriend, Andy, Louie's best friend, Tom, and his mom and dad attended as support; we all had a fabulous time tasting the competition, mingling and checking out the porsches!

The dessert that Louie entered into the contest was a Blood Orange Cheesecake with an Almond Graham Crust and garnished with White Chocolate Whipped Cream. It was so delicious! It won him the People's Choice Award! Award or not, I am so proud of my husband! I'm hoping this is the first of many opportunities for recognition of his wonderful culinary talent.

Easter Sunday

This past Easter Sunday 2013 was spent with my side of the family. We all thoroughly enjoyed each others company that day and even more, enjoyed all of Bella's excitements over the day's events. Minus the fact that Louie had to work half the day - it was a very nice Easter. My sister bought Bella a beautiful Easter dress to wear with matching shoes and my mother got her a pretty white hat. My little doll looked very lovely and sweet - I can't express how much I enjoy all the girly things I get to experience with her.

Christy and Andy - Cutest couple I know!

My Sibs - love them to pieces

Oh the sweets! What a spread! So many to choose from!

Testing the Green Thumb

Well we did it! We finally planted a garden. Louie and I have been talking about growing one for a few years now. We don't have a history of having green thumbs unlike other members of our family, but we love the thought of being able to have fresh herbs and vegetables at our fingertips; so this year we will make the extra effort to keep up with the responsibility of tending a garden for that benefit.

We are trying our hand at growing tomatoes, green and red peppers, rosemary, thyme, basil, oregano, and cilantro.

Here's to a fruitful crop!

Bella had a grand ol' time playin in the dirt!
