Bella has something to tell you!

Our family is growing!

After countless months of trying, our prayers were finally answered and we have been blessed with a pregnancy. I found out on Friday afternoon, May 1st - I've never been happier to see those 2 pink lines. We were overjoyed with the news and thought the upcoming weekend (Mother's day) was the perfect day to reveal the news to family. I made mother's day cards with the image of Bella announcing the news on the cover and inside. Our families are ecstatic about the news of a new baby, they had a good laugh at how cute our reveal was by using our princess Bella. We also couldn't keep the news from Bella so we told her that she was going to be a BIG sister - I wish I would have captured the priceless look on her face when we told her. She looked at me and said, "Mamma you are pregnick"? Yes, baby, mamma is pregnant :)

Weeks 6-7

Because I have lost a pregnancy in the past, I wanted to ensure everything was ok with this pregnancy as soon as possible. A visit, an ultrasound, and two blood tests later, I was out of my mind with worry because I was told my hormone levels were lower than expected and no cardiac movement could yet be detected. We pleaded for prayers from all who knew and I went on some hormone medication as soon as possible and after a week of uncertainty, my next doctor visit confirmed a strong heartbeat. Thank. GOD! As soon as relief came over me so did the wonderful side effects of the first trimester. NAUSEA and EXHAUSTION. yay!

Week 8

We planned an adult mini-vacay with some friends and my sister several months ago (before I knew I was pregnant) and we decided to make this a "baby moon" and enjoy it! Our travels to the beach were fun and the weather was beautiful, but I still dealt with lots of stomach issues and lethargy; at least I didn't have to be a mom for the weekend and all we did was relax most of the time!

Weeks 9-11

Pinterest wasn't really popular and around when I was pregnant with Bella, so this time around I'm going to have fun and do some of the fun ideas and inspiration I've seen on Pinterest while pregnant, such as week by week progress photos and a gender reveal party!

This week I took the Harmony Blood Test. It's a new test that is a more accurate way to test/screen for down syndrome, trisonomy 18 and 21 at 10 weeks of pregnancy - and an exciting perk is that you can find out the sex of the baby a lot sooner than the traditional 17-20 week sonogram! We plan to have the results revealed at an ice cream social gender reveal party in 2 weeks! I can't wait!

I spy a bump! Yes, I am already showing – a bit quicker than my first time being pregnant for sure!

Yesterday Louie and I celebrated our 8 year anniversary (wohoo!) and I also had my first "official" new OB appointment where we were allowed to bring Bella so she could hear the baby's heartbeat. She grinned from ear to ear listening to the thump, thump, thump, I hope it helps make the baby seem more real now - everyday she asks me if the baby is coming tomorrow! LOL I love it.

After a great doctor check up we decided to make the news "Facebook" official! Horray! Next we get to find out if baby Banes is a he or she! More to come soon!
